Connect an AI assistant

Use My Later List from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants. You choose which labels it sees and what it may change.

With Pro

Use your list from your AI assistant. Ask what's due this week, find something in a photo you saved, or tick off an item. It works with any assistant that supports MCP, a standard way for assistants to connect to apps.

The address

Every assistant asks for the same thing. You'll also find it in the app, under Settings → Connect an AI assistant.

https://mcp.mylaterlist.com/mcp

When you connect it

Your assistant opens a My Later List page where you sign in and choose:

  • Which labels it sees — all of them, or only the ones you pick.
  • Where it may change things — each label is Read, or Read & change.
  • Whether it may open photos and files — on unless you turn it off.

Where you let it, it can add items, add notes and checklists, tick things off, reschedule and change labels. It can never delete anything, open voice notes, share, or touch your account and settings. Our servers enforce these limits. Changes it makes show in the app as “Edited by” its name.

Setting it up

Claude (desktop, web and phone)

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste the address below and sign in to My Later List when it asks. Connectors you add on the web or desktop work in the Claude phone app too. Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan.

Claude Code

Run this in a terminal, then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose mylaterlist to sign in:

claude mcp add --transport http mylaterlist https://mcp.mylaterlist.com/mcp

We haven't tried this one ourselves yet. It follows the same standard, so it should work — tell us if it doesn't.

ChatGPT

On chatgpt.com, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. Then choose Create, paste the address, pick OAuth, and sign in to My Later List. Needs a paid ChatGPT plan.

Gemini (Spark)

On gemini.google.com, open Settings, find Custom apps for Spark, and choose Add custom app. Paste the address and sign in to My Later List. Then ask Spark, or type @ and pick My Later List. Needs a personal Google account in the US.

Gemini CLI

Add this to ~/.gemini/settings.json, then run /mcp auth mylaterlist to sign in:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mylaterlist": { "httpUrl": "https://mcp.mylaterlist.com/mcp" }
  }
}

We haven't tried this one ourselves yet. It follows the same standard, so it should work — tell us if it doesn't.

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server), then sign in when Cursor asks:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mylaterlist": { "url": "https://mcp.mylaterlist.com/mcp" }
  }
}

We haven't tried this one ourselves yet. It follows the same standard, so it should work — tell us if it doesn't.

VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

Run this in a terminal, then start the server from the MCP list in VS Code and sign in:

code --add-mcp '{"name":"mylaterlist","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.mylaterlist.com/mcp"}'

We haven't tried this one ourselves yet. It follows the same standard, so it should work — tell us if it doesn't.

Anything else

Any assistant that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in (OAuth) works: add the address and sign in when it asks.

Disconnecting

In the app, open Settings → Connect an AI assistant and choose Disconnect. It stops working straight away. Connections also end if you change your password, sign out everywhere, or delete your account, and pause while you're not on Pro.

Your data

What your assistant reads from your list goes to the company behind it — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or whoever it is — and is handled under their terms, not ours. The privacy policy has the details. Questions: support@mylaterlist.com.
